Healing begins with being understood.
Change happens in the space where we feel safe enough to be ourselves.
About me
I’m Katja (she/her), a psychotherapist offering sessions in South Queensferry and Edinburgh in English and German, both online and in person. I support individuals who want to explore the emotional, relational, and bodily layers of their experience — especially when what’s going on inside can’t easily be put into words. I also offer walk-and-talk therapy in South Queensferry, working outdoors alongside gentle movement for those who find this a supportive and more embodied, grounded way of engaging in therapy.
I originally trained in psychodynamic and person-centred therapy, and these foundations still shape my work today. I see therapy as a space where you can come exactly as you are — where we pay attention not only to the stories you carry, but also to how those stories are held in the body and in relationship. I believe therapy is a collaborative process of listening deeply — to the mind, the body, and the unspoken.
Over time, I’ve expanded my practice to include emotion-focused therapy, somatic work, and family constellations. These approaches help us connect more deeply with what’s felt but not always spoken — sensations, emotions, inherited dynamics, and unacknowledged needs. My work is also informed by a respect for the creative and intuitive aspects of healing, and I sometimes invite non-verbal or experiential methods, such as drawing or visualisation, or body-based awareness, to support expression and insight when they feel appropriate.
Therapy, for me, is about creating a space where complexity is welcome — where you can be in contact with more of yourself, at your own pace, with support. For me, therapy is not about giving answers — it’s about offering a space where something new can come into awareness, be felt, and begin to shift.
