What Is The Felt Space? A Gentle Introduction to My Approach

Welcome to The Felt Space.
This is a place where your inner world can be felt, understood, and supported.

When people come to therapy, they often carry feelings that have been held inside for a long time—sometimes quietly, sometimes painfully, sometimes without fully knowing why they’re there. The Felt Space is my way of creating a room where all of this can be met with presence, curiosity, and respect.

The name reflects the heart of my work: learning to feel what is here, not with pressure or analysis, but with attunement and care. When we slow down enough, we begin to sense the layers beneath our thoughts—the emotions, patterns, and histories that shape how we move through the world.

My approach brings together several strands of therapeutic work:

Psychodynamic therapy

Exploring how past experiences, early relationships, and unconscious patterns influence your present life. We notice what shows up in the space between us and what your mind and emotions are trying to communicate.

Somatic work

Paying attention to your body’s responses—tension, heaviness, breath, or subtle shifts. The body often knows truths before the mind can articulate them, and listening to it can be profoundly healing.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

Helping emotions come into awareness in a safe, structured way so they can move, transform, and integrate. Emotions are not obstacles; they are information and energy.

Family Constellation

Recognising that some of what you carry might belong to the wider system you come from—family patterns, inherited burdens, and loyalties that shape your sense of self and belonging.

Together, these approaches create a therapeutic environment that is gentle but grounded, supportive but spacious. You don’t need to arrive with answers. You don’t need to explain everything perfectly. It’s enough to come as you are.

The Felt Space is an invitation:
to feel what has been held,
to understand what has been confusing,
and to find support in the places that feel tender or tangled.

If you’re curious about therapy, or wondering whether this approach might be right for you, you’re welcome to reach out and begin at your own pace.

What Happens in the First Therapy Session?

Starting therapy can feel both exciting and a little daunting. You might wonder: What will it be like? Will I have to talk about everything at once? Will it help? At The Felt Space, the first session is simply an opportunity to get to know each other and explore what
